ROADMAP

FIRST DAY: Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Piscacucho - Wayllabamba

Pick up from Hotel from 4:00 am

Our adventure begins after to driving 1 hour and 30 minutes to Ollantaytambo, this place is located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and one more hour away by train to Km 104.

The name of this place is 104 km, after the train we will find a small bridge across the mighty Urubamba River and then we will see the check point for entry to the Inca Trail, in this place we have to identify with the original passport or document identity.

When you start the Inca Trail will find the archaeological site of Chacchabamba (2250masl), this place shows the ingenuity of Inca Architects (Quechua).

The next archaeological site to visit is Wiñay Huayna (2644masl), but to get to that place we have to walk up a distance of about 8 kilometers, almost all of the Inca Trail is up hill, in this way we can see the diversity of orchids and flora own of the cloud forest.

The Inca Trail will lead us to a place called Inti Punku (Sun Gate), located at 2725masl, this was the gateway to Machu Picchu in the time of the Quechuas (Incas), from here we have a spectacular view of Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu mountain.

We will begin to descend to Machu Picchu and after that we will take a bus to Aguas Calientes, where we will have a welcome and celebration dinner, we will spend the night in a hotel in the town.

SECOND DAY: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

We will start the day boarding a bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, this journey is about 30 minutes, then we will go to Machu Picchu archaeological complex where we will have a guiding tour of the main interesting points, and optionally you can stay for a few more hours in this place to explore and to walk around much longer.

Another good option is to climb the Wayna Picchu mountain, from this place you will have a spectacular view of the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu, only 400 people are able to climb this mountain, the climb up time is approximately 1 hour.

In the afternoon we will back to Aguas Calientes town to take the train back to Ollantaytambo where we will have a car to back to the Cusco city.
